How to Hire A
Nanny
Hiring a nanny
isn’t the easiest task to do in the world. Make this less stressful and
overwhelming by spending a considerable amount of time to writing down
your requirements for the nanny of your most precious treasures – your
children.

Certainly, your
nanny agency will conduct preliminary background checks on these
potential nannies, but have an active role in this process.
Here are some important considerations, for you to think about, before
the actual hiring.
1.How much are you willing to pay for a nanny’s salary?
2.What kind of lifestyle do you have? Do you work late hours? Or do
you have a home based business?
Now that you’ve gotten some insights about your budget, you’ll need to
consider the children’s needs. For instance, wouldn’t a day care
center be better for your child, so that he or she can socialize?
Conduct phone interviews, and also make it a point to meet each of
these prospective nannies in person, before you decide.
Ask them questions, such as:
How they would handle the different aspects that come with taking care
of children, e.g. sleep time, discipline, fights?
How are their relationships with their previous employer?
Ask for referrals from previous employers and conduct a background
check on these references. This is an important part of the process.
Lastly, bring your child out and watch them interact. See how the
nanny handles your child.
Don’t forget that you are part of this equation. Take time to measure
your reactions. Do you believe you have the beginnings of a rapport
between you and the nanny? Make it clear you want a good working
relationship, a nanny you can talk to and trust with your
children......
